Ticklegrass
Agrostis scabra
Ticklegrass is a cool season, short-lived perennial bunchgrass with a fibrous root system. It grows well in moist soils and may become dominate in some areas such as stream banks, but, it also grows well in dry arid areas. It prefers full sun but will tolerate partial shade. The native distribution for Tickle Grass is restricted to the northern and western states. This is an important plant in revegetation of disturbed sites and mine sites.
