PBSI Foothills Native Mix
This mix was created for the transitional zone between the grasslands of the plains and the forest of the mountains along the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains. Elevation ranges from 5,000’ to 7,000’ and the average annual precipitation is 15” to 20”. Vegetation is a broad belt of short grasses and shrubs intermingled with scattered pine trees on the hillsides and willows and cottonwood trees along the streams. These grasses are adapted to medium-textured soils, as well as some of the shallower soils found in the area. The Foothills Native Mix is used for conservation, restoration, cover, forage, wildlife, and for homeowner lots in the foothills area.
