Barley

Hordeum vulgare

Barley is an annual or biennial grass that is widely cultivated for yielding grain for breakfast food, animal feed and in malt beverages. It is well adapted to diverse environmental conditions and thus it is produced across a broader geographic distribution than most other cereals. It is the most salt tolerant cereal crop and barley growth remains unchanged up to high levels of salinity.
