Gray Headed Coneflower is a native perennial forb growing up to 4 feet tall. The blooming period occurs from early to late summer, and lasts about 1 to 2 months. There is little or no floral scent. It grows best in sunny locations with well-drained loam, clays and sandy soils. Gray Headed Coneflower can be used for roadside plantings, prairie restoration, wildlife cover, landscaping, and plant diversity in prairie communities.
