Prairie Junegrass
Koeleria macrantha
Prairie Junegrass is a cool season, clump-forming, tufted, perennial bunch grass that is native to the northern 2/3 of North America. It grows 1 to 2.5 feet tall, with bright green or grey-green leaves, and fine roots. Often grows on rocky ridges or near springs, as well as in the ponderosa pine zone. Used for range restoration, forage, construction, mine reclamation, and abandoned fields.
