Thinopyrum intermedium spp. barbulatum
Pubescent Wheatgrass is an introduced, cool-season sod forming perennial grass native to Europe and Asia. It grows 2 to 4 feet tall, with clumped, blue-green basal leaves and massive roots and rhizomes. Very similar to Intermediate Wheatgrass, but distinguished by hairs on spikes and spikelets. More drought tolerant than Intermediate Wheatgrass.
