Sorghum, Forage
Sorghum bicolor
Forage Sorghum is an upright summer annual that is extremely drought tolerant, and an excellent choice for arid and dry areas. It has special adaptations to weather extremes and is a very stable source of nutrition as a result. Forage sorghum grows 6 to 12 feet tall and is used for silage. Both grain sorghum and especially forage sorghum have more resistance to deer damage than does corn.
