Wild Bergamot

Wild Bergamot is a part of the Mint family, and is a native perennial forb that is 2.5 to 4 feet tall. The flowers bloom from June to September. This plant is found in upland woods, thickets, and prairies. Wild Bergamot is best grown in dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Tolerates somewhat poor soils and some drought. It needs good air circulation and tends to self-seed. Wild Bergamot is used in flower arrangements and bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds use the plant for nectar.
