Bentgrass is a cool-season, perennial sod forming grass that is native to the Mediterranean. Prostrate, creeping stems of this species sprawl 6 inches to 4 feet in length, with moderately-fine leaves and a green-gray color. This major turf grass is widely used for putting greens, as well as in lawn and fairway mixes.
