Sand Bluestem

Andropogon hallii

Sand Bluestem is a native, perennial, warm season bunch grass native east of the Rocky Mountains. It grows 3 to 7 feet tall and looks very similar to Big Bluestem, but with conspicuous hairs on the panicle (seed head), a bluer color, and typically in a sandy habitat.
