Smooth Brome

Bromus inermis

Smooth Brome is a perennial, cool-season sod forming grass that is native to the circumboreal region (Siberia, Russia, Scandinavia, Canada, and Alaska). Growing 2 to 4 feet tall, it has a reddish-green color and is a vigorous sod former. This species is widely naturalized and distributed in northern mixed grass rangelands. Used for non-irrigated hay, irrigated pastures, ditch banks, and roadsides.
